Threads of Grace Fellowship Group, Inc.
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
As home educators we join together as a team with the mission to provide support, encouragement, and accountability to home educating families while fostering Christian fellowship and friendships.
Our co-op offers and facilitates classes where kids will enrich their knowledge of selected curriculum/topics with activities/projects/tasks that could otherwise not be done easily individually at home.
HANDS ON ACTIVITY FOCUSED
Our core cooperative structure is based on providing required class activities and discussions based on Tapestry of Grace curriculum and secondly providing additional accountability and fellowship through other optional courses such as Latin, Spanish, PE, science, art, music, and writing. Classes are available for grades K-12, with nursery and preschool for younger siblings who are committed.
All learning levels use Tapestry of Grace curriculum as our History and Literature backbone.
The primary vehicle for group learning in grades K-6 is hands-on activities, with supporting discussion; parents still function as their children’s primary teachers and mentors following the curriculum at home the rest of the week. Grades 7-12 students participate in group facilitator-led discussions which enrich their ability to process and understand the reading and questions the students have previously completed at home. We also plan field trips and two yearly large group family Celebrations.
